The Opportunity:

This is the day-to-day finance seat inside a private family office that manages the investment, operating, and personal financial affairs of the principal and their family. You will own the full accounting cycle across a group of related entities — holding companies, operating companies, real-estate entities, and interests in private funds — much of it spanning more than one currency.

You will work directly with the Managing Director, close the books each month, keep the group's cash and investments accurately stated, and be the person who catches what doesn't look right before it becomes a problem. The environment is entrepreneurial and fast-moving, and a period of transition in the finance function means you will have real scope to shape process, controls, reporting, and automation from an early stage.

It is a role for a hands-on operator with the judgment of someone more senior: equal parts technical accountant, controls-minded gatekeeper, and trusted, discreet partner to the family.

What You'll be Responsible for:

• Full-cycle accounting & the monthly close — run the close start to finish across multiple legal entities, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions and eliminations, and consolidation into a clean group view.

• Accounts payable & disbursements — own multi-currency A/P: coding and allocating invoices across entities and cost centers, applying approval thresholds and workflows, and preparing controlled wire and ACH disbursements. Screen for duplicates, misclassified or personal charges, and anything that shouldn't be paid.

• Investment & partnership accounting — account for interests in private funds and direct investments: capital calls, distributions (distinguishing return of capital from income and realized gains), management fees, fair-value marks, and cost-basis tracking. Reconcile to custodian, fund-administrator, and capital-account statements, and track commitments and unfunded balances.

• Multi-currency & foreign operations — maintain foreign-currency accounts and investments in a USD-reporting group: record transactions at the correct rates, revalue positions at period-end, and account for realized and unrealized foreign-exchange gains and losses.

• Reconciliations at scale — reconcile numerous bank and brokerage accounts each month, including revenue-related accounts, deferred revenue, and accrued revenue. Resolve differences to root and keep supporting schedules audit-ready. Reconcile applicable accounts,

• Reporting & partnership with the Managing Director — prepare and present cash, liquidity, and investment reporting; surface the decisions that need the MD's attention, clearly and concisely; and provide dedicated, discreet support across the family's business and personal financial matters.

• Controls, policy & integration — develop and maintain accounting policies, disbursement controls, and procedures; help ensure compliance with applicable requirements; and support acquisition and entity-integration projects, bringing new entities cleanly onto the group's books and systems.

• Automation & process improvement — a standing mandate to reduce manual effort. Identify the repetitive work — form and application preparation, reconciliations, reporting, and payment runs — and streamline it with templates, document-automation, and workflow tools, so the group's finance and administrative operations scale without adding headcount.

• External coordination — work with outside tax advisors, auditors, and fund administrators — supplying schedules, supporting the annual cycle, and helping coordinate tax filings and information reporting.

• provide dedicated support to the Managing Director of the Family Office.

What You'll need to bring to Maropost:

• 8+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience, including hands-on ownership of the close in a multi-entity environment. (Experience scales with title — more for a Finance Manager mandate, somewhat less for a Senior Accountant framing.)

• Family office, fund or private-equity exposure strongly preferred — you understand how investment entities and personal/family finances fit together.

• Solid grasp of investment and partnership accounting: capital calls and distributions, management fees, fair value, and reconciling to fund-admin and custodian statements.

• Comfort with multi-currency accounting — recording, revaluation, and realized vs. unrealized FX.

• Strong accounts-payable discipline at volume, with a controls-first, detail-oriented mindset.

• CPA / CA preferred; a public-accounting or audit background is a plus for the controls discipline a family office requires.

• Proficiency with an ERP or full accounting system (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks Enterprise) and genuinely strong Excel (pivots, lookups, reconciliation builds).

• A bias toward automation — a track record of turning repetitive finance and administrative tasks into repeatable, low-touch processes, and comfort with automation or workflow tools (e.g., document automation, Zapier / Make, RPA) or light scripting.

• Discretion and sound judgment — you will see the family's private financial affairs and are trusted to handle them with complete confidentiality.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• You exemplify Maropost’s Values: o Customer Obsessed o Extreme Urgency o Excellence o Resourceful
