OPTIMIZE CPA
Job title: Accountant Reports to: Director, Optimize Accounting Solutions
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5 PM MST (Mountain Standard Time)
Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate and timely working papers for audit and review engagements;
• Prepare financial statements in compliance with the appropriate reporting framework;
• Prepare and complete working papers, financial statements, compilation engagements and tax returns according to Canadian and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of business;
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results;
• Responsible for the completion of tax engagements by computing taxes owed, preparing trust, personal, and corporate tax returns (and other compliance slips), preparing year-end tax forms (T4s/T5s), recommending tax strategies for clients;
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns;
• Prepare projections, forecasts, business plans, and other projects as required;
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures;
• Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes;
• Completion of additional ad-hoc duties or assignments as required.
Qualifications
• A CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
• 1–3 years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation
• Familiarity with Canadian tax laws and CRA regulations
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, CaseWare, TaxCycle)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
