About this role
The ICCT is seeking an intern to join our office in New Delhi to support the transition of the heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) sector to zero-emission technologies in India. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in transportation policy research at a leading nonprofit organization.
You will:
• Contribute to research analysing the total cost of ownership (TCO) of zero-emission truck technologies compared to conventional diesel vehicles in the Indian market
• Support analysis of India's HDV regulatory landscape, freight decarbonization policies, and national and state-level incentives for zero-emission trucks
• Assist in tracking and evaluating the deployment of zero-emission HDVs across key freight corridors and fleet operators in India
• Support the development of data-driven briefs and reports
• Contribute to stakeholder engagement activities, including preparation of presentations and summaries for government, industry, and civil society audiences
• Deliver ad-hoc tasks as needed
You have:
• Completed or pursuing a Master's degree in electric vehicle technology, electrical or mechanical engineering, transport planning, energy systems, public policy, environmental sciences, economics, or a related discipline
• Familiarity with zero-emission vehicle technologies and policies is preferred
• Experience with TCO modelling or emissions analysis is a plus
• Excellent research, analytical, and quantitative skills, along with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with data using statistical tools or languages such as Python or Excel
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Proficiency in English
• Ability to work 4-5 days per week (ideally 32-40 hours per week) with a duration of 3 months
