About the Role:
We have fixed-term Full Time, Part Time and Casual opportunities available.
As a Lifeguard, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone who visits our aquatic facilities. Every day is different, and you'll be at the heart of delivering safe, fun and memorable experiences for our community.
You'll have the opportunity to gain a range of nationally recognised qualifications and practical skills, including Advanced First Aid, emergency management, water quality management, chemical handling, and your Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC) if you don't already hold one.
Our aquatic facilities operate from early morning through to late evening, seven days a week, so we're looking for committed and flexible team members who are ready to make a positive impact during our summer season.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Actively supervising pool users and maintaining a safe environment.
• Providing friendly, professional and exceptional customer service.
• Proactively identifying and responding to potential safety risks.
• Supporting the cleanliness and presentation of the facility.
• Working collaboratively with your team to deliver safe and efficient daily operations.
• Responding calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Desirable Qualifications
• A Current Pool Lifeguard Skills Award (PLSA and PLPC).
• A valid First Aid Certificate
• National Certificate in Recreation & Sport (Aquatics)
Technical Skills/Competencies
• Swim 200 metres free-style continuously and in less than 6 minutes.
• Can complete a variety of water rescues and life-saving techniques correctly.
• A proven ability to actively supervise customers for long periods, preferably in aquatics environment.
• Familiar with pool plant and water quality maintenance.
• Experience in Lifeguarding and knowledge of aquatic facility activities.

Previous lifeguarding experience is desirable but not essential. We're looking for people with the right attitude, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to learn. Full training will be provided, and applicants must be available to attend three full days of training and hold, or be willing to obtain, a current First Aid Certificate.
