About the role:
As a product-centric company, Borrowell is looking to add a creative and passionate Sr. Product Designer to our team. Reporting to the Manager, Product Design, you will be working collaboratively with our Product, Data, Marketing, Engineering, Revenue, and Member Experience teams to design, launch, optimize and test features. Youʼll drive strong decision-making informed by user research, industry trends, and data analysis. You'll have the opportunity to take design ownership of large projects, working closely with a cross-functional team of talented designers, product managers, engineers, QA, marketers, and data analysts.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Business, Data, and other cross-functional partners to create intuitive, delightful, and functional experiences that solve real user needsLead end-to-end design processes within your product pod, leveraging strategic design thinking and iterative methodologies to deliver user-centred designs informed by testing and researchTranslate product strategy and requirements into clearly defined experiences that meet business goals without compromising design qualityConduct user research and competitive analysis, synthesizing findings into actionable insights using artifacts like journey maps, user flows, and storyboardsLeverage qualitative and quantitative research to proactively identify pain points, build user empathy, and advocate for optimal user experiencesClearly communicate design decisions and rationale to cross-functional stakeholders, building shared understanding and alignmentContribute to our design system and component libraries by actively improving consistency, scalability, and documentationChampion design and research practices across the org by contributing to shared documentation, facilitating design critiques, and helping cross-functional partners understand and engage with the UX processRequirements
A portfolio demonstrating empathy for user problems with a strong end-to-end design process crafting experiences for web and mobileExperience owning design problems within a product team, with the ability to be self-driven managing multiple projects in an agile environmentFluency in user research methods and usability testing, with a solid understanding of product thinking: funnels, user segmentation, A/B testing, and growth frameworksExpertise in Figma and other modern design toolsStrong knowledge of web and native mobile patterns, interaction standards, and design system best practicesClear, confident communication with the ability to explain the why behind design decisions

The budgeted annual salary range for this role is $100,000 – $150,000 CAD. Starting pay is determined by the candidate's relevant experience and skills. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for Borrowell’s full benefits package.
