Overview
We’re looking for a Head of Operations to build and own the operating system of a fast-growing DTC brand scaling from ~$13M to $20M+. This role is responsible for turning strategy into execution at scale — owning the cadence, systems, and infrastructure that keep the business running efficiently without relying on the Founder.
You will not own growth or creative — you will own the machine that makes those teams perform better.
What You’ll Own
Operating System & Execution
Build and run the company’s weekly operating cadence (leadership meetings, KPIs, accountability) Establish and manage team scorecards, 1:1 structures, and performance tracking Ensure clear ownership, priorities, and execution across all functions
Cross-Functional Operations
Act as the central operator connecting Growth, CX, Supply Chain, and Finance Ensure the business can scale (spend, demand, launches) without operational breakdowns Identify risks early and implement solutions before they impact performance
Supply Chain & Vendor Management
Oversee inventory planning, 3PLs, and contract manufacturers Ensure high in-stock rates on key SKUs (Amazon & DTC) Audit and optimize vendor relationships, costs, and dependencies
Finance Operations
Own operational finance workflows (bill pay, vendor payments, subscriptions) Monitor daily P&L performance and flag issues proactively Build and maintain a rolling cash forecast
People & Process
Own hiring operations, onboarding, and team structure Ensure every role has clear KPIs and accountability Build SOPs and scalable processes across the organization
Systems & Infrastructure
Own and optimize tools like Notion, Google Drive, and internal systems Audit and streamline the tech stack Implement automation and AI-driven workflows to improve efficiency Requirements
Experience
3–7+ years in operations within a DTC / eCommerce brand Experience scaling a business from ~$10M to $30M+ (or similar stage) Strong exposure to supply chain, fulfillment, and vendor management Experience owning internal operations, not just projects
Core Skills
Deep understanding of operating systems (EOS or similar) Strong financial literacy (P&L, forecasting, cost control) Experience building and managing processes, SOPs, and team structures High proficiency with tools like Notion, Slack, and operational dashboards Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) in daily workflows
Leadership & Mindset
Highly execution-oriented — moves fast and takes ownership Strong organizational and prioritization skills Able to balance speed with structure Proactive problem-solver who anticipates issues before they happen
Nice to Have
Experience in supplements, health, wellness, or fitness Experience working with 3PLs and contract manufacturers Built automation systems or internal AI tools
What Success Looks Like
Founder is no longer involved in day-to-day operations (<5 hrs/week → <2 hrs/week) Clear operating cadence and accountability across all teams Improved inventory health and supply chain reliability Accurate financial visibility and forecasting Faster execution with less chaos and fewer bottlenecks Scalable systems that support continued growth What This Role Is NOT
Not a growth or marketing role Not a creative or brand role Not a project manager tracking tasks This is a true operator role: owning outcomes, systems, and execution at scale.
