Overview
The Opportunity:
The Digital Accessibility Analyst ensures that digital products, applications, websites, and services are designed, developed, and maintained in compliance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, EN 301-549 and ADA/Section 508 standards. This hands-on role involves using a mix of automated scan tools and manual testing with assistive technologies to identify, document, and guide the remediation of accessibility barriers.
The Day-to-Day:
Conduct comprehensive accessibility testing on websites, mobile applications, and digital documents for WCAG 2.2 AA and PDF/UA compliance, executing hands-on manual evaluations with keyboard-only navigation, focus order validation, screen magnification, and leading screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, Voiceover, TalkBack).Serve as an accessibility subject matter expert for our key technologiesProvide guidance on challenging implementations (and/or tackle directly)Provide consultation on strategic work/processesReview work where appropriate (and pitch in when needed)Demonstrate a sense of ownership of websites and digital experiencesKeep documentation up to date and comprehensiveEducate, and mentor team members, on the Digital team and beyondMaintain relationships with 3rd party vendors and internal stakeholdersIdentifies potential process improvements, recommends solutions, and implements solutions to improve the efficiency of the department Additional responsibilities may include:
Utilize automated scanning tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Level Access browser scanning tool) to identify structural and code-level barriers, supplementing manual validationRead and interpret Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) and Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs)Document technical findings clearly, providing actionable remediation guidance, severity ratings, and impact descriptions to design (UX) and development teamsTrusted to make accessibility compliance decisions independently and translate complex technical requirements into plain language for non-technical business stakeholdersMaintain issue logs, tracking remediation items and verifying fixes through re-testing Partner with designers and developers during the software development lifecycle to provide guidance on accessible requirements and best practicesAdvice on digital accessibility policies, regulations, and procurement reviewsCreate and execute internal trainings on accessibility standards to foster a culture of inclusionManage and optimize accessibility platform(s) by tracking digital accessibility compliance metrics, interpreting automated scan findings, and generating actionable reports to guide Your Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience requiredMinimum of 2-3 years of direct experience in digital accessibility testingExpert Knowledge of WCAG (2.1AA & 2.2AA)Hands-on proficiency with assistive technologies, specifically screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, Voiceover, TalkBack)Experience with manual testing methods (keyboard navigation, color contrast analysis).Proven experience creating and reviewing ACRs/VPATsFamiliarity with HTML, CSS, and WAI-ARIAExperience in Agile/Scrum environments and using Jira/Confluence for bug tracking Compensation:
$80,200 - $125,000 base salary per year in the state of WA. New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experienceEligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance Why Fisher Investments:
