Job Description Summary The Project Engineer - HVDC will support the execution of Control & Protection (C&P) activities for HVDC projects from engineering through commissioning. The role involves coordination of design, technical documentation, system integration, testing, and site support to ensure project delivery meets quality, schedule, cost, and customer requirements.
Job Description Key Responsibilities Support the coordination and execution of HVDC Control & Protection systems for ongoing projects.Assist in coordination, review, and management of:C&P design documentsFunctional design specificationsInterface documentsProtection philosophiesTechnical reports and engineering deliverablesCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams including:System engineeringHardware engineeringSoftware/automation engineeringCommissioning teamsSite teamsCustomers and subcontractorsParticipate in design reviews, customer meetings, and technical discussions.Track engineering progress and support timely closure of technical issues.Contribute to FAT, SAT, and commissioning preparation activities.Ensure compliance with project requirements, technical standards, quality procedures, and EHS guidelines.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Control Engineering, or related discipline from tier one college with 3+ years of experiencePreferred experience in HVDC, FACTS, substation automation, protection & control, or power systems engineering.Understanding of:Power system protection principlesControl systemsSCADA/automation systemsElectrical system studies and interfacesFamiliarity with engineering documentation and project execution processes.Strong coordination and communication skills.Ability to work in a cross-functional and international project environment.Key Skills Technical coordinationProblem solving and troubleshootingCross-functional collaborationSchedule and deliverable trackingRisk and issue managementStructured and detail-orientedProactive and accountableStrong analytical mindsetGood stakeholder management skillsAble to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities
