About this role

Job Description Summary We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer to join our team in Stafford. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout the manufacturing process for our HVDC Power Transformer products.

You will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by leading quality inspection activities, validating quality processes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer requirements. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, you will help deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality products that support the global energy transition.

Job Description

What You'll Be Doing Following all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures and safe working practicesProviding technical support and guidance to the Quality Inspection teamConducting operator and quality inspector competency validations to ensure compliance with quality standardsEnsuring quality control requirements are clearly defined and implemented throughout design, incoming goods inspection, and manufacturing processesManaging measurement equipment calibration and ensuring inspection equipment remains compliantPerforming workstation spot checks, supporting workshop assessments, and carrying out compliance auditsLeading quality governance activities, including QR1 and QR2 meetingsDriving continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen quality processes, improve product compliance, and reduce defectsSupporting the development and maintenance of Manufacturing Control Plans and inspection documentationManaging quality records and ensuring accurate administration and document controlReviewing and consolidating End of Manufacturing Reports for Engineering and ManufacturingWorking collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve operational performance

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience Previous experience in a Quality Control or Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of quality control techniques and inspection processesExcellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality productsExperience conducting audits and supporting quality compliance activitiesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to analyse problems and implement effective corrective actionsProactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisationAbility to work independently and as part of a cross-functional teamRight to Work in the UK

Desirable Skills & Knowledge Knowledge of transformer design and manufacturing processesInternal Auditor qualification or equivalent auditing experienceExperience within an electro-mechanical or heavy manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of Manufacturing Control Plans and quality governance processesFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologiesExperience working within regulated manufacturing environments

Additional Information

Shift Pattern: Rotating Monday to Friday:6am to 2pm, andMonday to Friday: 2pm to 10pm
