PROJECT MANAGEMENT OVERVIEW

Responsible for managing project tasks, schedules, and deliverables under the guidance of senior project managers. Applies basic project management principles to support planning, execution, and stakeholder communication. Coordinates cross-functional activities, tracks progress, and assists in resolving project issues. Contributes to documentation, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

TEAM OVERVIEW - Security Projects

The Security Projects team partners across the enterprise to deliver strategic initiatives that protect members, team members, NFCU facilities, and organizational assets. Our portfolio spans cybersecurity, fraud prevention, physical security, scam mitigation, risk management, operational resilience, and emerging technologies that strengthen Navy Federal's security posture.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute cross-functional projects that align with business goals and operational priorities

Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to support successful delivery

Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with project objectives

Apply project management tools and templates to support consistent execution and reporting

Identify and escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies to senior project leaders

Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support timely and integrated project delivery

Prepare project documentation, dashboards, and updates for stakeholder communication

Ensure adherence to internal policies, compliance requirements, and governance standardsParticipate in issue resolution and support project change management activities

Provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to project knowledge sharing

Support the adoption of project management methodologies and continuous improvement practices

Collaborate with enabling functions to support business readiness and operational alignment

Participate in initiative planning and contribute to project coordination efforts

Represent the project management function in team-level planning and delivery discussions

Scam defense and fraud recovery programs

Security technology implementations and enhancements

Physical security and global security projects

AI and analytics initiatives supporting security operations

Regulatory, compliance, and risk-management efforts

Cross-functional projects involving Digital, Operations, Technology Services, Payments, and Security teams What Makes This Role Unique?

Exposure to high-visibility initiatives that directly protect members and the credit union

Opportunity to work with senior leaders, security professionals, business stakeholders, and technology teams

Experience managing projects that blend business process improvement, technology delivery, risk management, and organizational change

Hands-on involvement in project planning, stakeholder engagement, governance, reporting, and delivery execution

Exposure to enterprise-scale project management practices, Agile delivery approaches, and strategic portfolio management Successful candidates often possess:

Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills

An interest in security, fraud prevention, technology, or risk management

Experience managing projects involving multiple business and technology teams

Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

A collaborative mindset and ability to influence without direct authority Qualifications

Project management experience.Proficient in managing project schedules, deliverables, and stakeholder communications with increasing autonomyKnowledge of project planning, budgeting, and risk management practices across business functionsExperience with coordinating cross-functional teams, tracking progress, and resolving day-to-day project issuesAdvanced knowledge of project documentation, reporting, and change management processesExperience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent) to support project execution and visibilityWorking knowledge of stakeholder engagement, issue escalation, and project governance practicesBasic skill in identifying project risks and contributing to mitigation planning and continuous improvementBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Organizational Development, or related field, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experienceDesired - Master's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experienceDesired - Professional Certifications (e.g.,PMP, PgMP, or Lean/Agile certification)Desired - Experience managing vendors or third-party contributors a plus.Desired - Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira) preferred.
