We're seeking someone to join our team as a documentation negotiator in Hong Kong to be a member of the IED documentation team of AEDG.
The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. The Asia Equities Documentation Group (AEDG) rolls up to the Risk Department of Morgan Stanley and is responsible for drafting, negotiating and administrating legal documentation for prime brokerages, OTC equity derivatives, securities lending, listed derivatives and electronic trading for clients in the APAC region including Japan.

What you'll do in the role: Assist with the onboarding and negotiation of legal documentation relating to prime brokerage, OTC equity derivatives, securities lending, listed derivatives and electronic tradingPrepare and negotiate independently legal documentation relating to prime brokerage, OTC equity derivatives, securities lending, listed derivatives and electronic trading.Act as primary point of contact with clients /their counsel and our internal stakeholders for all negotiations in the legal documentationWork closely with internal stakeholders via escalation of deviated terms identified during negotiation of documentation; collaboration with client onboarding support teamInteract with clients in connection with new industry rules and regulationsReview and analyze legal constitutional documentation/ legal opinions to verify capacity and authorityParticipate in global or local initiatives and documentation remediation addressing on regulatory updates and requirements imposed by regulatorsAssist in the development and project management of policies, procedures and system enhancement relating to the covered areas
What you'll bring to the role: Holder of law degree in a common law jurisdiction. Holder of legal qualification in a common law jurisdiction is a plusexperience in negotiating prime brokerage suite of documentation, ISDA/VM CSA/ IM CSA documentation, trade confirmations and/or other relevant contracts in corporate law firm or financial institutionKnowledge of industry regulations and best practices in prime brokerage and OTC derivatives spaceAbility to identify; resolve issues and handle escalation from the team independentlyAbility to multi-task and operate in a dynamic environmentExceptional organizational and conflict resolution skillsEffective written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Chinese language is a plus
