As a Product Owner, Lender Insurance Vice President in Insurance Operations, you define and govern product direction for lender insurance capabilities by staying close to how work is performed and how exceptions are handled. You translate operational insight, data, and process artifacts into clear requirements, sequenced priorities, and measurable outcomes. You serve as the primary point of contact for delivery and governance partners, making timely scope and tradeoff decisions with a strong risk and control orientation.
Job responsibilities
Observe operational workflows through structured shadowing to understand friction points, exceptions, and control needsDefine product vision and a sequenced roadmap for lender insurance capabilities and supporting toolingConvert operational insight and data into clear, testable requirements and prioritized backlog itemsMake authoritative decisions on scope, requirements, assumptions, and delivery tradeoffs to maximize outcomesDefine workflows, controls, and audit-ready traceability expectations within delivered solutionsPartner with technology and governance stakeholders to align intent, constraints, and delivery approachDrive end-to-end integration thinking across platforms, vendors, and operational handoffsOwn backlog refinement and readiness to enable releasable increments and predictable deliveryEstablish and monitor product metrics tied to quality, cycle time, and exception reductionLead continuous improvement by reviewing performance, root causes, and control effectiveness Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Demonstrated ability to build deep business understanding through structured immersion in frontline workExperience analyzing operational data and process artifacts to identify root causes and requirementsProven ability to translate operational complexity into clear requirements and defensible prioritiesStrong decision-making and ability to communicate rationale aligned to outcomes, risk posture, and feasibilityPrior experience owning a backlog and defining outcomes in a regulated or control-focused environmentAbility to operate effectively at the intersection of delivery, governance, controls, and auditabilitySkilled in driving clarity through ambiguity and shaping problems into actionable workAbility to define acceptance criteria that withstand operational scrutiny and fit the operating modelExperience working across multiple systems and teams in integration-heavy, end-to-end workflowsStrong stakeholder management, serving as the single source of truth for business intent and outcomes Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
