The Opportunity
Join the Hitachi Energy Cybersecurity Operations team as a Cyber Security AI Engineer specializing in GenAI/ML and become part of a new engineering initiative focused on solving real-world cybersecurity challenges. As cyberattacks grow in scale and sophistication, our Cyber AI Engineering Hub is tasked with rapidly designing and building AI-driven solutions that transform how cybersecurity teams operate. In this role, you will take ideas from early prototypes to production-ready systems that directly improve incident response, threat detection, and other core cybersecurity functions. How You Will Make an ImpactDesign, build, and deploy production-grade GenAI applications using LLM APIsOwn end-to-end feature delivery, including backend development in Python, API design, and UI integrationImplement RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and tool-calling in operational cybersecurity systemsIntegrate AI workloads with log platforms, data lakes, automation workflows, and security toolsBuild and maintain REST APIs (FastAPI) to support scalable AI servicesEngage with cybersecurity stakeholders to refine requirements and demonstrate capabilitiesEnsure reliability, scalability, and maintainability of deployed AI software solutions Your BackgroundStrong proficiency in Python and backend engineering for production systemsHands-on experience designing and building REST APIs (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)Practical experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, etc.) and applying RAG, prompt engineering, and agent orchestrationExperience working in cloud environments (Azure preferred) and familiarity with DevOps toolsStrong communication skills and fluency in EnglishAdvantageous: Experience with PostgreSQL/MongoDB, Docker, CI/CD, Azure services, SOAR platforms, or cybersecurity operations (SOC, detection engineering, incident response).Frontend engineering experience is a plus More about us
