Process Overview
Sanctions Filter Support is responsible for reducing false positive sanctions volumes through rule-based coding and analytics. The team develops and maintains rules and exceptions using Fircosoft-based coding. In addition, the process includes conducting impact and regression analysis through FOF testing, which requires strong expertise in Excel and database tools. Associates are expected to independently analyze data, derive insights, and recommend process improvements. The team also produces detailed reports on OFAC hit rates and identifies opportunities to optimize rules, exceptions, and blocking logic to minimize unnecessary alerts while maintaining compliance integrity.

Functions as a proficient technical resource contributing to the design, development, and implementation of complex applications, including the use of new technologies. Participates in project work and may support or guide team activities related to operational or strategic initiatives. Accountable for applying technical expertise as an individual contributor to drive process efficiency and effectiveness.
Work on Fircosoft utilities (FML, FMM, FFF)Develop and maintain rules and exceptionsSupport reduction of false positives in OFAC queuesWork across multiple data sources (databases/NAS drives) using SQL and analytical toolsGenerate reports and perform analysis to draw data-driven conclusionsEngage with onshore LOB partners and Global Economic Sanctions teamsIdentify and mitigate risks related to unintended release of genuine OFAC matchesMonitor reports and provide updates to reduce operational and compliance riskOrganize and analyze data using advanced analytics tools, including VBAApply data-driven decision-making approaches, including Six Sigma conceptsSupport internal and external audit reviews Responsibilities
Manage coding volumes for rules and exceptionsEnsure format errors are identified and resolved at the start of dayPerform detailed analysis of OFAC hit rates and provide structured outputs to LOBExecute systemic testing (including FOF) to support business requirementsAnalyze heavy hitter reports to reduce false positive volumesSupport initiatives to minimize overall OFAC alert volumesManage regulatory and compliance risk through ongoing monitoring and controlsContribute to global dashboards and analytics reportingShare and replicate best practices across regions Requirements
