Job Title: Transition Job Coach Exemption Status: Exempt/Professional Reports to: Director of Special Education Date Revised: 07/16/2026 Dept./School: Ripley High School This will be a Classified position. The following information outlines the roles and responsibilities of a Transition Job Coach funded by a Transition School to Work (TSW) grant. It is a 10 month position.
• Works under the guidance of the Director of Special Education and Transition Case Manager for Laudedale County School System.
• Assists the Transition case Manager in completing referrals on students for possible Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services.
• Attends meetings with the Transition Case Manager.
• Build positive relationships with all students receiving transition services and VR services.
• Attend district trainings and TSW Job Fairs.
• Teach students job skills, interview skills, and provide hands-on job experience within the local community.
• Teach students independent living skills, self advocacy, proper personal hygiene and how to work properly with co-workers.
• Teach a basic job skills curriculum.
• Teach students how to incorporate technology skills into a work environment.
• Communicate with high school Work Base Learning teachers.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
