About this role

General Definition of Work The NC Pre-K compliance coordinator, under moderate supervision, performs complex work with limited decision-making discretion monitoring compliance, eligibility and enrollment requirements, and process improvements of the NC Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) Program. Employee performs administrative/support work to carry out the Board of Education policies and procedures related to NC Pre-K compliance under the direction of the Executive Director of Pre-K Services. Salary/Status NC 14 Salary Non-Certified Schedule/Full-time, 12 months Reports To Executive Director of Pre-K Services Place of Work The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time. Essential Functions

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures

• Monitor enrollment in NC Pre-K sites

• Collaborate to plan and facilitate the standardized NC Pre-K Site Selection Process

• Coordinate monitoring visits at private- and public-school sites

• Collect, maintain, and organize documentation for NC Pre-K Program compliance requirements

• Monitor budget processes to ensure fiscal procedures are aligned with the NC Pre-K program requirements

• Assist the Pre-K Enrollment & Recruitment Coordinator in identifying, selecting, and enrolling students utilizing NC Pre-K criteria and procedures

• Assist in implementing procedures in alignment with NC Pre-K, Division of Child Development and Early Education and Child Care requirements (DCDEE)

• Collaborate with NC Pre-K Literacy Facilitators, Social Workers, and Parent Advocates in program implementation

• Prepare presentations, reports, training, meeting minutes, memos, or other correspondence as requested

• Compile and analyze data related to NC Pre-K Program

• Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly

• Participate in professional development workshops and other meetings are required

• Perform related work as assigned or required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school systems and the NC Pre-K Program

• Thorough knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards regarding school systems

• Knowledge of required records preparation and maintenance

• Ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress

• Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs

• Ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, and procedures into daily business operations

• Ability to communicate effectively

• Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationships

• Ability to employ positive communication skills in all settings/mediums

• Ability to problem-solve utilizing sound judgment

• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school system business

• Ability to develop related charts, graphs, reports, and records pertaining to school planning and strategy

• Ability to conceptualize, initiate, monitor, and evaluate new and/or current programs

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing team environment

Education and Experience

• Associate's degree in early childhood education or related field required

• Minimum of three (3) years of education experience required

• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Requirements

• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation

• Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
