Deadline for applying – Until Filled Department: Elementary Reports to: Principal Employment: 178 days, 2.5 hrs./day (flexible), M-F Salary: $ 14.00/hr. Start Date: August 2026 Summary: Supervises students during lunch and recess. Works to maintain a harmonious atmosphere, encourages conversations during lunch, and peaceful resolutions in a safe, organized manner on the playground. Organizes group games and activities while being responsible for all play equipment. Qualifications:
• Ability to develop and maintain a professional rapport with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Must be 18 years of age, clear criminal history check, physical, and drug test required; first aid training.
• Alternatives to the above qualification as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Directs the movement of students to and from the lunchroom, the playground, and classrooms; upholds discipline policies to maintain the organized academic setting of the school building.
• Performs duties with awareness of all district requirements and board of education policies while modeling district standards of ethics and professionalism; implements policy/procedural changes from administration, the board of education, or state/federal changes.
• Demonstrated ability to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public, staff, students, and families.
• Able to effectively respond to a single student or small group of students while maintaining order in the building or playground area; will be required to work outside for recess periods.
• Must be able to perform the physical demands of this position, which includes sitting, standing, talking, seeing, and hearing. Occasionally, it will be expected to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motions many times and push or lift up to 50 lbs., such as boxes of books.
• Performs other functions and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
