TITLE OF POSITION: Special Education Paraeducator
LOCATION: Orleans Elementary School
DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT OF POSITION: Full-time position working under the direction of the special education and general teaching professionals to support both inclusive and sub-separate programs for children with mild to severe disabilities, and academic and behavioral challenges in small group and/or 1:1 settings. Paraeducator is a member of the inclusion and special needs teams responsible for implementing educational plans. Duties also require support for general building activities, student arrival, dismissal, lunch and recess.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrated prior experience providing support services to students
• Evidence of high education with coursework specific to Special Education preferred
• Minimum of a high school diploma, college experience preferred, especially in the area of Special Education
• Must be willing to be trained in Crisis Intervention
SALARY: $24.78 - $27.86 per hour
