Job Description TITLE: Athletic Medical Coverage REPORTS TO AND EVALUATED BY: Director of Athletics and Building Principal AVAILABLE: August 2026 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Seasonal Sports Schedule/Per Game; Non-Exempt $60 for a single event, which shall consist of simultaneous events OR $100 for back-to-back events. PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: Provide emergency medical assistance to students at scheduled athletic events and activities. Must be trained in the use of AED's and have knowledge of sports medicine and emergency treatment procedures. Able to remain calm in an emergency situation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide emergency medical and first aid treatment.

• Administer pulmonary and cardiac resuscitation including Automated External Defibrillators (AED's), if necessary.

• Provide appropriate emergency treatment depending on patient's condition.

• Refer serious patients for appropriate medical care including a hospital via ambulance if necessary.

• Complete necessary reports to district personnel in a timely manner.

• Communicate effectively with coaches and other district personnel in the performance of EMT duties.

• Assume other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Possess current PA EMT certification or ATC certification.

• Possess current CPR certification.

• Trained in use of AED's.

• Possess valid PA drivers license

• Knowledge of sports medicine procedures.

• Knowledge of emergency treatment procedures.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Clearances must be within 12 months and TB must be within 90 days of hire date.

• School Personnel Health Form (Physical and TB test) PDE 6004 Form (Act 24)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Choose one of the following.)

SEDENTARY __ LIGHT WORK _X__ MEDIUM WORK __HEAVY WORK __ VERY HEAVY WORK__

SEDENTARY: involves sitting most of the time. The incumbent should be able to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.

LIGHT WORK: If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the individual sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. The incumbent should be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

MEDIUM WORK: The incumbent should be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

HEAVY WORK: The incumbent should be able to exert up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

VERY HEAVY WORK: The incumbent should be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
