Miami Public Schools is accepting applications for a Campus Police Officer for the 2026-2027 school year. TITLE: Campus Police Officer QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous law enforcement experience is preferred
• Possess CLEET Certification and continue to meet the standards of CLEET certification.
• All CLEET-certified peace officers are required to meet certain firearms requalification standards. Officers must attain a qualifying score of not less than seventy percent utilizing their primary handgun.
• NASRO Certification, or ability to obtain NASRO Certification
REPORTS TO: Chief of Campus Police and Sergeant, Campus Police Department JOB SUMMARY: Demonstrate a commitment to the education of our youth and to maintain an appropriate learning environment through the protection of students, employees, and property. Responsible for maintaining the security and safety of students, staff, faculty, and the community of Miami Public Schools. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare police reports; identify and report potential safety and security hazards, conduct initial investigations, and act on community and district concerns.
• Collaborate with district and campus staff who oversee safety protocols.
• Follow the department's safety procedures including procedures for the safe handling and use of firearms.
• Patrol district property to protect all students, staff, and visitors from physical harm and prevent property loss due to theft or vandalism.
• Follow the district Emergency Operations Plan and the MPS Campus Police Department Policy and Procedures Manual.
• Perform all duties outlined in district procedures, rules and regulations, and policies.
• Work any hours, shifts, days or assignments given as designated by the supervisor.
• Serves as an appropriate, positive role model for students.
• Perform special duty assignments, overtime, protective details, and all other duties required.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Employment is considered annually with Oklahoma Law. Salary set by the Board of Education. 10-month employment contract. EVALUATION Performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of support personnel.
