About this role

Primary Purpose: Assist the school principal in the overall administration of instructional programs and campus-level operations. Coordinate assigned student activities and services. Support a positive school climate conducive to high student achievement, staff collaboration, and community engagement. Qualifications: Education/Certification:

• Master's degree in educational administration or related field

• Valid Texas principal certification (or mid-management certification)

• T-TESS appraisal certification (or willingness to obtain)

Experience:

• Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level

• Leadership experience preferred (e.g., team lead, instructional coach, committee chair)

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Leadership

• Assist the principal in monitoring the implementation of curriculum and instruction.

• Participate in data analysis and campus improvement planning.

• Observe classroom instruction and provide coaching/feedback to teachers.

• Help lead professional learning communities and staff development initiatives.

Student Management

• Implement campus discipline procedures in alignment with the Student Code of Conduct.

• Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and counselors to support student behavior and social-emotional needs.

• Coordinate student activities, arrival/dismissal procedures, and supervision schedules.

Personnel Management

• Assist in recruiting, selecting, and orienting new staff.

• Support the appraisal and growth of instructional staff.

• Help monitor staff attendance and substitute coverage.

School Operations

• Support the principal in campus operations, including schedules, testing coordination, transportation, safety drills, and special events.

• Serve on or lead campus committees and initiatives.

• Communicate with parents and community members on behalf of the campus.

Other

• Perform duties as assigned by the principal or district administration.

• Comply with all district policies, state and federal laws, and campus procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise certified and non-certified staff and volunteers as assigned. Working Conditions: Mental Demands: Ability to handle stress, coordinate multiple tasks, problem solve, and work with a diverse population. Physical Demands: Regular walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 25 lbs. Environment: May require evening and weekend work; fast-paced school setting.
