About this role
PHYSICAL THERAPIST QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of a Master's Degree.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist.
• Prior experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Program Director, Director of Pupil Services, or Director of Early Childhood Educational Services. JOB GOAL: To provide physical therapeutic services for special needs students. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist students by improving, developing or restoring functions impaired or lost through illness, injury or deprivation.
• Assist students by improving their ability to perform tasks for independent functioning when functions are impaired or lost.
• Assist students by preventing, through early intervention, initial or further impairment or loss of function.
• Continue to further education by participating in staff development as required.
• Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
• Adheres to good safety practices.
• Comply with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten, eleven or twelve-month year. Salary and Calendar year to be established by the Board. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor.
