Somerset County Public Schools is seeking dedicated individuals for part-time Adult Education Day Time Instructor positions. This role is vital in providing high-quality academic instruction to adult learners to help them develop essential workforce readiness and academic skills. The instructor will lead both men's and women's classes within a correctional facility setting, fostering an environment of growth and educational achievement. Key Responsibilities
• Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in adult basic education, focusing on core subjects including Math and literacy.
• Assessment: Maintain accurate and adequate student testing and attendance records to track learner progress.
• Environment: Manage classroom dynamics effectively within a detention center environment, ensuring a safe and respectful learning space.
• Compliance: Adhere to Maryland Adult Education Standards and program requirements as determined by MSDE and Somerset County Public Schools.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in an education-related field.
• Technical Skills: Strong Math and Computer skills are essential.
• Experience: Previous experience working with adult populations is preferred.
• Language: Ability to speak Spanish is a significant plus.
• Certification: Must hold or be eligible for a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) certificate.
Schedule & Logistics
• Commitment: 2 days per week in the Princess Anne area.
