About this role
JOB GOAL: To provide school health services to strengthen the educational process of children by assisting them to improve or adapt to their health status and to create a climate of health and well-being in the district schools. -Provide day to day clinical support for student/staff injuries -Manage IHCPs and Medical 504 plans for select students. -Manage/supervise children with a variety of health issues/diagnoses, including but not limited to : Various allergies, including life-threatening peanut/tree nut allergies, and diabetes. -Contribute to school safety and health and wellness initiatives, including proper hygiene and healthy behaviors. -Maintain comprehensive records and facilitate ongoing communication with families as needed. -Support school-wide screening assessments, such as vision and hearing. RESPONSIBLE TO: Building Principal for day-to-day direction and supervision.
Must have current and valid RI Certification and licensed by the state of RI as a Registered nurse. Must demonstrate strong collaboration skills, working closely with school staff/administration and the district nursing team. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and be an effective communicator with colleagues, staff, families, and children. Only complete applications will be reviewed/considered.
