TITLE: District MLL Coordinator (Part-time Teacher Leader Stipend Position) JOB GOAL: The MLL Coordinator works with school and district administration, and teachers in the MLL Department to ensure students have access to rigorous and relevant coursework and instructional materials, and the support and interventions to be proficient in English and meet or exceed grade/course proficiency standards. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Rhode Island certification as an MLL teacher. Five years of successful MLL teaching experience. Demonstrated knowledge of MLL program requirements as evidenced by advanced degree, course work, training, and/or professional experience. Any exceptions to the above as may be acceptable to the Superintendent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience as a Teacher Leader. Certified ESL Specialist/Consultant Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, industry and community partners, students and families. Experience and expertise in program development, data collection and analysis, program evaluation and reporting. Excellent oral and written communication skills and technology use. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate the integrity of instruction of MLL curriculum. Act as system administrator and point of contact for MLL curriculum Coordinate the delivery and analysis of MLL assessment data (currently ACCESS). Collaborate with school and district leaders, and MLL teachers to identify areas of program improvement and support/monitor progress of improvement areas. Coordinate and support MLL team professional learning. Support facilitation of professional learning for all staff during district PD or grade-level/content area meetings. Serve as a member of the school leadership teams. Serve as a member of the Professional Development Committee. Act as a liaison between MLL families and the school department, offering supports such as translation services, language screening, and home visits Perform other related work as required by the Principals or Assistant Superintendent. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 3 year appointment (26/27- 28/29) Schedule to be determined by the School Principal in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent. Internal candidates will engage in a 4/5 work schedule; dedicating up to 20% of their time (as needed) to MLL Coordinator tasks and duties, and complete an estimate 40 hours per school year beyond contractual day to be submitted on time sheets. Compensation: $3000 per year for successful completion of job responsibilities. Stipend with be paid in 2 installments December/June EVALUATION: Annual, based on above job responsibilities. REPORTS TO: Building Principals, Assistant Superintendent
