About this role
Compensation is in accordance with BTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Appropriate MA DESE License required. Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Appropriate MA DESE teacher certification
• Ability to communicate effectively with appropriate age groups and provide excellence in instructional practice.
Reports to the principal: Works cooperatively with other teachers and supervisors with different instructional responsibilities for his/her students within the school setting. Supervise the work of teacher assistants, instructional aides, interns, and student teachers as assigned. Responsibilities:
• Plans and implements high-quality, developmentally appropriate lessons for students based on state curriculum standards and the Berkley curriculum.
• Know and follow procedures established for students' health, safety, security, and well-being.
• Achieve an in-depth understanding of the physical, social, intellectual, and emotional characteristics of the age group of the students in his/her classroom.
• Help students to develop efficient and effective ways of learning and studying.
• Help students improve their skills, understanding, and appreciation of writing, speaking, and listening abilities.
• Establish and maintain a stimulating environment for learning, using varied techniques and groups of students as appropriate.
• Help students improve their ability to work with others in classroom and school situations.
• Model the effective use of technology within the classroom setting.
• Help students evaluate their work and grow and learn positively as a result of the evaluation process.
• Develop and maintain effective communication with parents.
