“B” Shift Custodian 2026 - 2027 School Year District Wide, Building & Grounds Department
DESCRIPTION “B” Shift Custodian QUALIFICATIONS:
• Be a licensed driver and/or have transportation to and from work sites.
• Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude with small hand tools.
• Must possess a Black Seal Operating Engineer's license.
• Ability to work “B” shift from 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
• Successful Criminal History Clearance
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
• Must be able to complete all physical duties as assigned at 100% capacity.

• Frequent Physical duties:
• Working with/ near cleaning chemicals and fumes
• Lift/ Carry 1 - 50 pounds unassisted
• Push/ Pull 1 - 50 pounds unassisted
• Bend/ Stoop/ Twist
• Crouch/ Squat
• Reach above and below shoulders
• Repetitive arm and wrist use
• Walking ( on even walking surface )
• Occasional Physical duties:
• Lift/ Carry 51 - 100 pounds
• Push/ Pull 51 - 100 pounds
• Repetitive Grabbing/ Squeezing
• Climb ladder/ stairs
• Walking ( on uneven walking surfaces )
• Working with/ near building maintenance equipment, power tools, heights and tight places
• Other duties as may be assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & COMPENSATION In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTSSA collective bargaining agreement the "B" Shift is from 7:00AM - 3:30 PM. For the 26/27 SY, compensation range is Step 1 $19.81/hourly - Step 7 $20.71/ hourly. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
