Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s degree from an accredited institution. • Four (4) years of financial record keeping, accounting, or related work experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field. • Six (6) years of financial record keeping, accounting, or related work experience. Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills. • Knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment. • Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention. • Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications. • Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance. • Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel. Responsibilities
• Train and support Bookkeepers in the application of District policies and procedures in all financial transactions. • Train and support Bookkeepers to maintain a complete and systematic set of records of all financial transactions of the school/department. • Prepare and implement training for all Bookkeepers to address identified problem areas and new concepts. • Serve as a mentor for new Bookkeepers. • Provide support to all customers of the Business Services Division. • Collaborate with other Business Services departments. • Assist Business Services staff as necessary to ensure smooth operation of daily functions.
