Role Description
You will be expected to also cover Weekend hours for a minimum of 1 or 2 shifts per month. We are looking for a Support Worker to join a large, established care team in a permanent, contracted, or self-employed role, working on a rota basis.
Our client is 14 years old and has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, therefore requiring help with all aspects of her 24-hour care. She lives with her parents and two younger siblings. She is an easy-going person who is non-verbal and easy to read once you get to know her. She enjoys:
Arts and crafts Shopping trips Cinema Bowling
Our client is a full-time wheelchair user. The day shift support would include:
Collecting our client from school Assistance with after school activities Help with the preparation of home-cooked nutritional meals
The evening shift support would include:
Assistance with night-time routines Assistance with the morning school run
Help with household tasks will be an integral part of the role as well as:
Assistance with administration Communication Cover for other team members
Qualifications
Reliable, patient, energetic, and happy personality Positive and empathetic attitude towards supporting a person with additional needs Good communication skills, particularly in developing and supporting communication Ideally, 2-3 years of experience in the Care industry (less experience may still be considered)
Requirements
Must be a driver aged 21 or over for insurance purposes No pet allergies (family includes two dogs) An enhanced DBS certificate is a requirement (Employer will arrange if not available) Criminal convictions may not necessarily prevent employment
Benefits
Day Support: £10 - £12 per hour, depending upon experience Sleeping night: £80 - £96, depending upon experience + 2.5 hours paid at day rate Waking night: £120 - £144, depending upon experience + 2.5 hours paid at day rate
