Salary: £54,000 - 94,000 per year
Requirements: We need 8–10 years of post-graduate experience in aerodynamics within industry or research.We require a degree (BSc, MEng or MSc) in a STEM subject.A PhD or equivalent aeronautical research experience is desirable.We are looking for expertise in one or two of the following areas: Flight Control Law Development, Flight Mechanics, Stability & Control, CFD, Air Vehicle Performance, Configuration Aerodynamic Design, Propulsion Integration, Aerostructures, Air Data Systems, Aerodynamic Methods Development, Stores Release & Jettison, Near Field Acoustics & Vibration.We need strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Clearance requirements include BPSS and Full SC, with ITAR restrictions applying. Responsibilities: We provide aerodynamic support across a range of Air Sector programmes.We lead aerodynamic research, design, computational analysis and testing.We support flight clearance activities.We contribute to aerodynamic toolset development and digital transformation.We collaborate with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.We ensure compliance with engineering governance and SHE standards. We are recruiting for an experienced Lead Aerodynamicist to join our Flight Sciences Engineering team on a 12-month contract based in Warton, Lancashire. This is a full-time, on-site role with 37 hours per week, typically requiring four days on site from Monday to Thursday. The position offers an hourly rate of £47.41 PAYE or £63.96 umbrella, and it sits inside IR35.
