Salary: £20,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements: We require a degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical discipline.We require a strong understanding of fundamental computer science principles and the ability to apply them to real-world engineering challenges.We require demonstrable hands-on experience as a Senior Software Engineer, delivering high-quality, maintainable software in a commercial environment.We require significant industry experience with modern C++ (such as C++11 and later), including memory management, templates, concurrency, and the standard library.Experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem is highly advantageous, especially for cross-language integration or tooling.We require proven capability to work effectively within an established software development lifecycle, including code reviews, design discussions, and collaborative delivery.We require strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, including encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and abstraction.We require a clear understanding of SOLID principles and the ability to apply them to create robust and extensible software designs.We require proficiency in SQL, specifically Microsoft SQL Server, with the ability to write efficient queries, analyse execution plans, and collaborate with database specialists where necessary.We require experience implementing and maintaining unit tests across multiple layers of an application, including user interface, back-end services, and database components.We require working knowledge of software design patterns, optimisation techniques, performance profiling, and implementation strategies for high-throughput or low-latency systems.We require experience mentoring and coaching engineers at various stages of their career development.We require the ability to contribute positively to team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and collaborative problem solving.We want someone enthusiastic, initiative-taking, and passionate about technology, with a strong desire for continuous learning and professional growth.We want someone motivated to succeed, committed to delivering exacting standards of quality, and able to contribute to a positive and productive engineering environment. Responsibilities: We want you to participate in regular stand-ups, sprint reviews, demos, planning sessions, retrospectives, and refinement sessions.We want you to fix bugs, resolve defects, reduce technical debt, and contribute to ongoing projects and design work.We want you to submit and review pull requests, carry out code reviews, and help improve code quality and shared understanding.We want you to perform unit testing and support product release cycles and reports.We want you to contribute to stakeholder demonstrations, product reviews, and engineering input across projects.We want you to participate in mobile development activities and collaborate on delivery priorities.We want you to support junior team members through mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance.We want you to monitor system performance and contribute to high-quality, maintainable software delivery.We want you to engage in engineering dojos, katas, pair programming, and collaborative problem solving.
