Salary: £40,000 - 45,000 per year
Requirements: We have several years of hands-on experience in an IT infrastructure engineer, analyst, specialist or administrator role, and we are ready to step up into a more senior position.We have strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware and network security.We have solid server administration experience.We have practical experience with local and cloud platforms.We are confident owning and running projects.We have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.We are clear communicators who are comfortable working with both technical and non-technical colleagues.We can manage our own workload, juggle multiple priorities and work independently.Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, MCSA, MCSE or equivalent are nice to have.Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools is nice to have.Experience in M&A work is nice to have. Responsibilities: We own the design, planning and implementation of core IT infrastructure, servers, storage, networking equipment and cloud platforms to meet evolving business needs.We manage and maintain servers, operating systems and applications across different environments.We monitor system performance and ensure reliability and availability.We configure and maintain network devices to ensure secure, efficient communication.We implement and enforce security policies, backups and disaster recovery procedures to protect infrastructure and data and ensure business continuity.We manage local and cloud infrastructure to optimise resource utilisation and scalability.We lead projects end to end, make architecture decisions, forecast capacity and coordinate external vendors and service providers.We keep documentation accurate and up to date, and report regularly on system performance and health.We act as an escalation point for local issues across our Birmingham office and supporting global teams.We set up and provision hardware and software for new joiners and manage the IT asset lifecycle.We respond to incidents promptly, troubleshoot issues and follow up with resolutions.We help colleagues get the most from their tools, and improve support processes, documentation and knowledge as our team grows.
