Salary: £30,000 - 40,000 per year
Requirements: Minimum 4 years hands-on experience in a senior IT support or systems engineer role within education.Ability to diagnose and resolve server failures independently, including OS, hardware, RAID, and virtualisation.Strong Active Directory and Group Policy experience, including real-world deployment and troubleshooting.Hands-on cyber security experience, including incident response, endpoint protection, web filtering, and Cyber Essentials.Confident with Microsoft 365 administration across the full suite.Solid networking knowledge, including VLANs, managed switches, wireless, firewalls, and routing.Experience with MDM platforms such as Mosyle, Jamf, Intune, or equivalent.Able to work completely independently and resolve complex technical problems without supervision.Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and calmly to non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities: Work part time, three days a week, supporting educational sector clients across Liverpool and Merseyside.Provide IT support and systems engineering across schools, academies, universities, and colleges.Diagnose and resolve server, infrastructure, networking, and security issues.Administer and support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, and MDM platforms.Handle cyber security tasks such as incident response, endpoint protection, web filtering, and Cyber Essentials support.Support Apple devices and Google-related environments where required.Communicate technical issues clearly and professionally with school leadership and other stakeholders.Travel to client sites as needed using your own vehicle. We are an IT firm looking for a part-time IT Engineer (Support) to join us for three days a week, working on site across Liverpool and Merseyside. Our work focuses on the educational sector, supporting primary schools, secondary schools, academies, universities, and colleges. The role offers a pro rata salary of £30,000 to £40,000 based on a full-time equivalent, and we require someone who can work independently and travel between client sites. We work with server, infrastructure, networking, cyber security, M365, helpdesk, Apple devices, and Google environments.
