Salary: £22,500 - 38,500 per year
Requirements: We need proven ability to deliver customer-centric, value-driven solutions within a fast-paced software development lifecycle.We need strong hands-on production experience building applications using React and Next.js.We need a testing mindset with personal accountability for quality, backed by experience writing unit tests and using tools such as Jest or Playwright.We need a solid understanding of web accessibility standards and experience building highly accessible user interfaces.We need practical experience optimizing application performance, including bundle size and rendering efficiency, and familiarity with tools such as Lighthouse and GCP CDNs.We need demonstrated experience identifying, locating, and resolving production service faults.We need experience collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams and coaching or mentoring junior engineering colleagues. Responsibilities: We will expect you to develop scalable React and Next.js applications while defining clear component boundaries.We will expect you to build modern UI libraries or integrate with existing ones to ensure consistency across applications.We will expect you to design and document component library standards and patterns, and connect the frontend to backend services using RESTful APIs.We will expect you to own the testing and quality of your code, with support and guidance from Test Engineers.We will expect you to write clean code following modern web and accessibility standards, with unit testing as an everyday practice.We will expect you to establish effective frontend testing strategies using frameworks like Jest and Playwright.We will expect you to proactively pitch technical ideas and optimizations and take ownership of technical tasks.We will expect you to optimize application performance, focusing on bundle size, rendering efficiency, and Core Web Vitals.We will expect you to audit site speed using tools like Lighthouse and help design secure, performant GCP content delivery solutions.We will expect you to drive a customer-centric mindset and promote a test-and-learn approach to engineering and problem-solving.We will expect you to act as an accessibility champion and advocate for genuine user needs.We will expect you to coach and mentor junior colleagues and contribute to a healthy engineering culture.We will expect you to explain complex technical concepts in clear, non-technical language to internal and external stakeholders.
