Seed Processing Holland is looking for a Field Service Engineer who combines practical expertise with a strong service mindset. The organisation combines specialist engineering with installation, training, service and maintenance throughout the lifetime of each installation. The position As Field Service Engineer Technician, you will be Seed Processing Holland's technical representative at customer sites in the Netherlands and abroad. You will install, commission, maintain and troubleshoot seed processing equipment and ensure that every assignment is completed safely, professionally and in accordance with the agreed specifications. The position offers considerable variety and independence. Your assignments will range from planned maintenance and individual machine installations to complex commissioning projects and systematic fault finding. You will follow each task through to completion and ensure a professional handover to the customer and the end users. An important part of the role is building trust with customers. You will keep the relevant stakeholders informed, explain technical matters clearly and provide the guidance needed for safe and effective operation of the equipment. The organisation You will become part of Seed Processing Holland's service organisation in Enkhuizen. Although much of your work will take place independently at customer sites, you will work closely with colleagues in engineering, software, production, project management and service. This combination of autonomy and strong technical support enables you to solve issues efficiently and deliver a high standard of customer service. Key responsibilities Installing, repair and maintaining seed processing machinery and complete installations at customer sites. Carrying out commissioning assignments ranging from individual machines to complex integrated projects. Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and control-related issues and implementing reliable solutions. Performing Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and contributing to Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), where relevant. Testing, adjusting and documenting equipment to ensure safe, stable and efficient operation. Providing technical guidance and ensuring a structured handover to operators and end users. Reporting progress, findings and required follow-up actions to customers and internal colleagues. Representing Seed Processing Holland professionally and contributing to long-term customer relationships. Professional profile You have completed an MBO-4 or HBO-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical discipline. Alternatively, you have acquired an equivalent level of technical expertise through relevant practical experience. In addition, we expect that you: have relevant experience with machinery, installation, maintenance, commissioning or technical service. have a sound working knowledge of electrical systems and PLC technology. can read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and fault information. are able to work independently and make well-considered decisions at customer sites. communicate confidently in English; additional languages will be an advantage. are willing and able to travel regularly in the Netherlands and internationally. hold a STEK certificate or have relevant refrigeration knowledge; this will be considered an advantage. You approach installations and breakdowns calmly and methodically and remain positive when plans or circumstances change. At the same time, you are customer-oriented and communicate in a clear and respectful manner. You listen, create confidence and translate complex technical issues into understandable solutions. You work accurately, pay attention to detail and take responsibility for bringing tasks to a satisfactory conclusion. Your curiosity and willingness to learn help you develop with every new project.
