Seed Processing Holland is looking for an experienced Software Engineer who combines technical depth, analytical thinking and a practical approach from design through commissioning. Company profile Seed Processing Holland B.V. develops, designs and supplies machines and complete installations for the international seed processing and seed production industry. The headquarters are located in Enkhuizen, in the heart of Seed Valley and the Dutch seed industry. The organisation combines specialist engineering with installation, training, service and maintenance throughout the lifetime of each installation. The position As Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the control engineering within technically challenging machine and project assignments. From the start of each order, your input will help define the controls and process approach, after which you will develop, test and support the software through to commissioning. You will translate P&IDs, flow diagrams and project requirements into clear control descriptions, PLC programs and operator-panel applications. The role combines engineering work at the office with practical testing on machines and installations, giving you direct insight into the performance of the solutions you create. You will also contribute your expertise during the quotation phase and support the service organisation with commissioning and fault resolution. Most of your work will be performed from Enkhuizen, with occasional travel to customer locations in the Netherlands and abroad. The organisation You will join Seed Processing Holland's multidisciplinary engineering organisation in Enkhuizen and work closely with colleagues in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, project management, production and service. The environment is dynamic and technically diverse, with short lines of communication and a shared focus on delivering dependable solutions for customers worldwide. Key responsibilities Translating P&IDs, flow diagrams and project requirements into clear control descriptions as the basis for software development. Programming PLC applications and operator/control panels for machines and complete seed-processing projects. Loading, configuring and testing software on machines and installations before delivery. Following projects from the initial design phase through testing, delivery and commissioning. Providing controls and process input during the quotation phase for new machines and projects. Supporting the service department during commissioning, including occasional assignments at customer sites in the Netherlands and abroad. Analysing control-related malfunctions and helping the service organisation implement effective, lasting solutions. Maintaining accurate technical documentation and ensuring that software and control solutions comply with applicable machine-safety requirements. Professional profile You operate at HBO level in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable technical discipline and have substantial demonstrable experience in a similar software or control-engineering position. The technical environment includes CODESYS, Reliance, Hitachi PLCs (EH-150 and EHV+), EXOR control panels, Invertek frequency converters, Eaton EASY control modules and Eplan. In addition, we expect that you: have strong experience with PLC programming and the development of operator/control-panel applications. understand related technologies such as drive systems and pneumatics and can apply this knowledge in integrated machine solutions. are familiar with machine-safety standards, particularly at electrical and control-system level. work accurately, analytically and in a structured manner and keep the required technical administration up to date. communicate effectively in both Dutch and English and work well independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team. are willing to travel occasionally for commissioning or troubleshooting assignments in the Netherlands and abroad. have experience with Eplan and/or refrigeration installations; either will be considered an advantage.
