About this role

Position: Lay Chaplain Hours: 37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year (term time plus 3 weeks) Salary: £29,779 - £32,579 per annum (Band 5, Scale Points 19-24) Location: Working across five Catholic primary schools in the Glossop/Hadfield area.

Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will lead and support the spiritual life of the schools, helping students, staff, and families deepen their faith while promoting the Catholic ethos throughout the school communities.

Key Responsibilities

Leading prayer, worship, liturgies, and other faith-based activities. Providing pastoral care and spiritual guidance. Supporting and enhancing the Religious Education curriculum. Working closely with headteachers to develop the Catholic Life and mission of each school. Organising liturgical celebrations and spiritual events. Essential Requirements

Must be a practising Catholic (reserved post). Strong understanding of Catholic teaching, liturgy, and traditions. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to inspire children, staff, and families. Strong organisational skills and a collaborative approach. Benefits

Has an active Catholic faith and enjoys sharing it with others. Has experience working with children, schools, parishes, or youth ministry. Is confident leading prayer and worship.
