About this role

Applications are invited for this part-time post to support the work of the Wales Kidney Research Unit. This all-Wales post is hosted by the School of Health Sciences.

Duties will include developing research capacity and capability of those wanting to develop skills and opportunities across health services research generally, including trials in Wales, UK and Europe. The postholder will be a member of the Executive team of the Wales Kidney Research Unit.

The post holder will act as a strategic expert to provide advice and support on the development of opportunities to attract research funding and on co-ordinating and supervising project teams.

The post holder will have a PhD (or be near completion) or equivalent experience relevant to the role.

The role includes responsibilities for seeking their own research funding and planning / conducting / analysing and publishing research across kidney related health services research, mentoring junior researchers, PhD supervision and liaising with external and internal partners in academic, industry and third sector.

The successful candidate will be expected to commence 1st September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter and the post is available until 30th September 2028.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.

This all-Wales role is mainly delivered virtually with face to face meetings with key partners and WKRU personnel as required.
