You’ll play a key role in helping students transition from living at home to fully independent living, while ensuring all accommodation users have the best possible experience during their stay with us.
Your responsibilities will include:
Line managing cleaning and portering staff Investigating and reporting maintenance issues Ensuring health and safety guidance is followed Acting as the face of the department and engaging with students and visitors
This role involves working on a 5 over 7 rota. Cleaning is required in some areas at weekends, therefore there is an expectation to work weekends on a rota basis. Weekend rota work requirements apply mainly during the summer peak period.
About you
You’ll be an organised and proactive individual with experience of working in a fast-paced operational environment, ideally within accommodation, hospitality or facilities services.
You’ll also have:
Strong communication and problem-solving skills Experience supervising and supporting staff The ability to balance customer service with operational priorities A commitment to staff development and an inclusive working environment
About the department
The University of Bath’s Campus Services provides accommodation for more than 5,000 students throughout the academic year. During the summer months, external organisations also use our accommodation and facilities for conferences, summer camps and away days.
Campus Services supports the University’s strategy by providing high-quality services that underpin excellence in education, research and the overall experience of students, staff, visitors and commercial customers.
With more than 400 staff, Campus Services consists of a diverse range of teams, including Operations, Hospitality, Retail, Cleaning and Portering, Security, Postal Services and Landscaping.

This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, working 36.5 hours per week.
