About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Executive Assistant to support the Centre for Bone and Joint Health within the Blizard Institute. This role will involve direct support for the Centre Lead, Professor Griffin and Deputy Centre Lead, Professor Sheehan, focusing on various administrative and operational tasks essential for the smooth running of the Centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a leading academic institution at the forefront of research in musculoskeletal health. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating research initiatives and supporting the day-to-day operations of a dynamic academic team.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate the diaries, scheduling meetings and appointments efficiently. Act as an informed gatekeeper for the Centre for Bone and Joint Health , ensuring relevant information is communicated effectively. Support day-to-day operations of the group, including organising and facilitating meetings and events. Assist in the recruitment of other staff for the group by preparing paperwork, developing job profiles, and liaising with HR and the Centre Administration team. Support internal and external communications by drafting and coordinating Centre communications, creating engaging content for social media and assisting with the production of newsletters, posters, presentations, and other communications materials.

About You

You are an organised and proactive professional with an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience. Your excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills enable you to manage tasks efficiently in a busy environment.

Experience in higher education administration or a clinical research setting is preferred. You thrive in collaborative settings and possess strong team-working abilities.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
