Senior Construction Programme Manager -6-month secondment

Main duties of the job
The main function of the post is to provide programme management overview of the projects' construction operations and infrastructure projects relating to the following Trust's properties:
o University College London Hospital, 235 Euston Roado Grafton Way Buildingo Cancer Centreo Royal National Hospital for Ear, Nose, Throat and Dental Hospitalo Mortimer Markets Hospital for Tropical Diseaseso Chenise Mewso 170 Tottenham Court Roado Other buildings that support the above hospitals
The project schemes within these properties are complex, multi-year delivery and directly relate to the Trust's strategic objectives.
The post holder will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of schemes listed on the capital programme as issued by the Head of Capital Projects, from conception to post project evaluation, including the appointment and management of external consultants and contractors taking place in the above properties. These projects across these properties vary in complexity and scale to the rest of the projects in the portfolio.
It is particularly important that the current team is operating efficiently and that there is minimal duplication and/or waste in current operating procedures.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications Essential
Knowledge in building design and construction. Track record of successfully implementing significant change within a complex environment In depth knowledge of acute hospital environments
Desirable
Relevant qualification to the post (degree level, engineering or construction related). Recognised BIM Accreditation Knowledge in Asbestos Management Membership of a relevant professional association body Knowledge and understanding of the Equality Act & Building Safety Act
Experience Essential
Experience of working as a Senior Project / Programme Manager at a portfolio level Experience in management of larger scale / complex healthcare projects
Desirable
Experience in managing BIM level 2 projects Knowledge and experience of using different types of works contract including NEC Construction and Infrastructure contract, JCT Traditional, JCT Design and Build. Experience of working in an NHS senior estate's role. Evidence of significant achievement and success at higher levels in NHS Capital/Corporate development Experience and knowledge of NHS procedures, systems, legislation and guidance Experience of successful contract negotiation
