About the role

Erewash Health Partnership is looking for an experienced and values-driven senior leader to lead our Operations Team and strengthen the delivery, performance and continuous improvement of services across the organisation.

This is a key senior leadership role with responsibility for coordinating operational delivery across our practice sites, North and South locality teams, Erewash-wide services, projects and contracts.

You will lead through Area Delivery Leads, operational managers and service leads, ensuring that services are safe, responsive, efficient and delivering the outcomes expected by patients, partners and commissioners.

Working closely with our Chief Medical Officer, Chief Finance Officer and wider leadership team, you will bring together operational, clinical, financial and performance information to support better decisions, stronger delivery and sustainable improvement.

The role will also act as EHPs senior contracts lead and will have a central role in the integration and merger of EHP practice contracts.

Main duties of the job

Lead and coordinate EHPs Operations Team across practice sites, localities and organisation-wide services. Provide clear leadership, challenge and support to Area Delivery Leads, operational managers and service leads. Ensure services are delivered in line with agreed plans, quality standards, contractual requirements and budgets. Lead the organisational performance management process, including dashboards, review meetings, recovery plans and escalation. Work with the Informatics and Performance Team to develop meaningful reporting on activity, access, quality, productivity, outcomes and efficiency. Working with the CFO, act as EHPs lead for contract development, negotiation, mobilisation, performance, variation, renewal and closure. Oversee delivery against key performance indicators and contractual obligations. Lead operational improvement programmes and ensure that agreed actions result in measurable change. Work jointly with the Chief Medical Officer on service redesign, pathway improvement, capacity and demand planning, clinical improvement and learning from incidents and complaints. Programme manage the EHP practice contract merger and associated operational integration. Support the development of business cases, transformation proposals and invest-to-save initiatives. Provide clear and concise reports to the Leadership Team, Erewash Management Team and Partners Board. Build positive relationships with GP partners, clinicians, managers, commissioners and partner organisations.

This role will ensure that agreed clinical standards, service models and improvement actions are translated into effective operational delivery.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Significant senior operational management experience, ideally within primary care, the NHS or a comparable healthcare setting. Experience of leading managers, services or multidisciplinary teams. Strong performance management and service improvement skills. Experience of contract management, commissioning arrangements or delivery against formal service specifications. Experience of leading complex programmes, organisational change or service integration. The ability to interpret complex operational, workforce, financial and performance information. Strong judgement, communication and influencing skills. The confidence to challenge constructively and hold senior colleagues to account. A collaborative leadership style and a commitment to psychological safety, learning and continuous improvement. A clear understanding of NHS governance, quality, regulatory and contractual requirements. Experience of primary care networks, integrated care systems, general practice operations or practice contract integration would be particularly valuable.

Education: Bachelor's (preferred)
