About this role

Job summary

This position is based on the Acute Medical floor at PRH and the post will be based mostly on AAU or AMU .We are looking for caring and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our team. You will have good communication skills and a caring nature, with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. In return we can offer you a robust training programme (a 2 week academy Healthcare programme prior to starting in the department if new to the role), as well as further training and education to progress your career with us.

PLEASE NOTE- there is very limited availability in flexible working

Main duties of the job

oThis role supports registered nurses in providing safe and caring support to patients.oIt involves helping patients with everyday needs such as washing, eating, drinking and moving safely.oYou will check and record basic health information and report any concerns to a nurse.oThe job includes keeping the ward clean, tidy and well-organised, and helping with basic admin tasks.oYou will work flexibly across different wards and follow all training, policies and safety rules.oGood communication, kindness and respect for patients and their individual needs are essential.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Can demonstrate an understanding, through personal statement and interview, of what is required within the role of a Health Care Assistant in the care setting Can describe the Trust Values and demonstrate how they put these in to practice within their caring role Experience of care either formal or informal e.g. for a family/friend

Previous hospital experience

Qualifications Essential

GCSE in Maths and English grade 9-4 ( A - C) Functional Skills L1 or higher2

Desirable

Level 2 Diploma in Health Care support NVQ Level 2 in Care or demonstrate a commitment to work towards
