At Cygnet Elowen Hospital, we are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Operative to provide a high-quality maintenance, repair and facilities support service across the hospital. Youll help ensure our environment remains safe, welcoming and well maintained for the people in our care, our colleagues and visitors.
Youll be working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) at Cygnet Elowen Hospital, supporting a service for individuals with eating disorders, personality disorders and disordered eating.

Maintenance Operative / General Maintenance Technician

At Cygnet Elowen Hospital, we are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Operative to provide a high-quality maintenance, repair and facilities support service across the hospital.Youllhelp ensure our environmentremainssafe,welcomingand wellmaintainedfor the people in our care, ourcolleaguesand visitors.
Youllbe working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) at Cygnet Elowen Hospital, supporting a service for individuals with eating disorders, personalitydisordersand disordered eating.
Your d ay-to-day responsibilities will include:
Providing a responsive and effective general maintenance and repair service
Carrying out a wide range of building maintenance tasks, including basic joinery, plumbing, painting,decoratingand general DIY repairs
Completing routine property maintenance checks to ensure the hospitalremainssafe,functionaland well presented
Maintaining equipment,servicesand vehicles to a high standard
Supporting planned preventative maintenance and responding to repair requestsin a timely manner
Completing regular fire safety checks, including fire alarm points, fire exits, doorretainingdevices and emergency lighting
Following safe working practices and reporting faulty equipment, maintenanceissuesor potential hazards
Keepingaccuraterecords of maintenance work,repairsand safety checks
Travelling to other sites whenrequiredand occasionally sup porting emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
Werelooking for someone who is:
Experienced in a maintenance operative, maintenance technician, handyperson, caretaker, facilities assistant or similar property maintenance role
Skilled in general DIY, repairs, plumbing, painting, decorating, basic joinery or construction maintenance
Confident carrying out routine maintenance checks and keepingaccuraterecords
A practical problem solver who canprioritisemaintenance issues safely and effectively
Friendly, reliable,conscientiousand able to work well as part of a team
Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, managers,contractorsand service users
Willing to travel whenrequiredand holds a full valid UK drivinglicence
Ideally experienced within a healthcare, care home, hospital, education, residential or commercial maintenance environment
