About this role

Job summary

The postholder will provide the operational co-ordination and management for servicesdelivered within Neighbourhood Mental Health system for specialist teams. This will involveworking closely with the Associate Director for Mental Health, local place based leads,commissioners and other stakeholders.The postholder will develop a culture based on the Trusts values, which is centered on theachieving the best outcomes for service users, is flexible and responds positively to change,where staff feel valued, and services are coordinated to improve the experience of the patientand enable staff to work to their full potential.The postholder will be part of the Bronze on Call Manager rota.

Operational leadership of a defined portfolio within Community Mental Health Services.The postholder will deliver the following key services: Specialist Cluster Mental Health Teams Early Intervention Structured Clinical Management Occupational Therapy ADHD Service Be responsible for the leadership and management of allocated teams within a definedmodel and actively manage the pathway between services ensuring service users receivetimely access to services appropriate to their needs. Represent mental health services for at key strategic development forums as requestedand deputise for the Associate Director where required. Contribute to the assessment and analysis of needs of local residents with mentalhealth needs within the care hub. Contribute to the development of a range of servicesfor adults and older people with mental health problems alongside other professionalsand voluntary and independent sector agencies.Develop working relationships with other stakeholders to contribute to the integration ofadults of working age and older peoples mental health services in accordance with thelocality plan and local and national agendas Ensure robust arrangements of user and carer representatives to further develop olderpeoples services through working groups. Ensure active representation of Neighbourhood Mental Health services at key carehub meetings, both internal and external. To act as a source of clinical advice and expertise in relation to the care of people withmental health needs internally and externally. Produce and implement annual business plans to meet the requirements of the Trust andservice strategy. With the Associate Director, agree and implement a quality and performance assessmentframework for operational services. Manage service budgets responsibly to ensure cost effective services, in agreement withthe Associate Director in accordance with the Trust Standing Financial Instructions Monitor and work towards achieving all KPIs for the service at both a Trust and locallyagreed level. Participate in the on-call managers rota, be part of the senior management team in theborough and contribute to local business continuity planning. Take a lead on investigations into serious incidents, complaints and coroners enquiries asdirected. Monitor with external bodies the Practice Placements for pre and post graduate learning. Develop care pathways and protocols with referring agencies and commissioners toaddress policy guidance and standards. Jointly monitor care planning and packages with the Local Authority/ICB. Person Specification

Relevant professional qualification in Health or Social Care Substantial experience in a senior clinical leadership or management role in Mental Health Services Experience of managing multiprofessional integrated teams Experience of managing change/complex projects Experience of planning, delivering and developing services Experience of representing the Borough / Trust view at strategic forums Extensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act Evidence of continued professional development to postgraduate diploma level Safeguarding Procedures for Adults and Children Evidence of effective leadership skills
