Job summary
The theatre team is now recruiting enthusiastic and highly motivated ODPs/RN to work within our Recovery room at Ashford site. You will provide specialist support and knowledge to patients and staff alike within clinical areas in Recovery room.
We are looking for candidates who are able to carry out individualised nursing duties to the highest standards within the recovery room according to policies and procedures under the control of the person in charge, reporting any difficulties or concerns.
You must possess excellent communication skills, a desire to learn and have a passion to develop and improve our services. Previous recovery experience is welcome and we also support new nurses with no experience but with a passion for post-operative care.
Main duties of the job
Maintain awareness of and comply with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct/Scope of Professional Practice the HPC Standards of Proficiency, Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
Promote good working relationships and collaborative working with the multi-disciplinary team, both within the division and the rest of the Trust
Deliver skilled practical care to all patients in the monitoring, planning and delivery of individualized patient care in the immediate post operative period.

Monitoring post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anaesthesia.
Measuring and recording patients' vital signs.
Closely observing patients for signs of side effects of anaesthesia medication.
Treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anaesthesia.
Maintain accurate record keeping by updating charts, patient files, and medical records.
Providing comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.
To maintain at all times a professional attitude, this includes appearance in accordance with the Trust Dress Code Policy.
