Job summary
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Children's Speech and Language Therapy Technical Instructors to join our growing Oxfordshire team. Working under the supervision of qualified Speech and Language Therapists, you will support children and young people with speech, language and communication needs across a range of settings, including schools, clinics and family homes. The role includes delivering therapy programmes, running groups, supporting assessments, preparing resources and working closely with families, education staff and other professionals.
As part of the service's transformation programme, you will also support the delivery of the Experts at Hand approach by working alongside schools and partner organisations to promote the early identification of speech, language and communication needs. You will help education staff implement evidence-based strategies, contribute to inclusive practice within mainstream settings and support children to participate fully in education and everyday life. This work aligns with wider SEND priorities and partnership working across education, health and care services.

Main duties of the job
You will work directly with children and young people to deliver evidence-based therapy, both individually and in groups, under the guidance of a Speech and Language Therapist. You will support children with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs, using approaches such as signs, symbols and communication aids to maximise participation and independence.
You will work closely with families, school staff and multidisciplinary colleagues across a variety of settings, helping to deliver high-quality, child-centred care. The role also includes preparing therapy resources, maintaining accurate records and supporting service development activities.
As part of the Experts at Hand programme, you will work alongside schools, families and partner organisations to promote early identification of speech, language and communication needs and support children to access help sooner. You will contribute to the SEND agenda by sharing strategies and resources that support inclusive practice and positive outcomes.
You will support training, workshops and group programmes for parents, education staff and partner organisations, helping to build confidence in supporting children's communication needs. As part of an integrated service, you will work closely with Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and education professionals to improve participation, learning and wellbeing for children and young people.
