About The Role This is the first software engineering hire at Otonomee and a key role in building the company’s AI capability and platform. You will report to the CTO, with a dotted line to the Product Builder. <br><br>You will design, build, and ship AI-powered applications end-to-end — spanning backend, data, APIs, and lightweight UI — while establishing the foundation of the Enterprise AI Platform on Azure. <br><br>In the early phase, this role is highly hands-on. You will turn ambiguous business problems across multiple teams into working solutions using AI-native development tools. As the team grows, the role will evolve toward platform architecture, integrations, and technical leadership. <br> <br>Why This Role <br><br>This is an early and high-impact founding engineering role in a company building its AI platform from the ground up. You will take ownership of how AI applications are designed, built, deployed, and scaled across a real CX client environment. <br><br>You will work hands-on across the full stack — from backend and data to APIs and lightweight UI — shipping production-ready AI solutions end-to-end. With direct exposure to leadership, you will play a key role in shaping the technical foundation of the business while owning delivery from concept to production in a fast-moving, AI-native environment. Your profile <u>What You`ll Be Doing</u><br><br>AI Application Development <br><ul><li>Build and ship end-to-end AI applications (backend, data, APIs, UI)</li><li>Turn ambiguous problems into working software quickly</li><li>Use AI-native tools to accelerate delivery</li><li>Apply key AI patterns (RAG, agents, prompt engineering, evaluation)</li></ul>Platform & Infrastructure <br><ul><li>Build and scale the AI Platform on Azure (multi-region)</li><li>Own core components: APIM, identity, networking, observability, data</li><li>Establish CI/CD,IaC, testing, and deployment standards</li></ul>Integrations <br><ul><li>Integrate with internal and third-party systems (CRM, CX platforms)</li><li>Work with tools like Zendesk, Genesys, Intercom, Microsoft 365</li><li>Build APIs, webhooks, and event-driven systems</li></ul>Security & Compliance <br><ul><li>Embed GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 (and others) into the platform</li><li>Partner with Security/GRC on data protection and accesscontrol</li></ul>Collaboration & Operations <br><ul><li>Partner with Product on roadmap and build-vs-buy decisions</li><li>Document systems, architecture, and processes</li><li>Monitor production systems and improve performance, cost, and reliability</li></ul><u>About You</u><br> <br>Engineering & AI <br><ul><li>Proven experience shipping full-stack applications end-to-end</li><li>Hands-on with AI/LLMs (e.g. Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic)</li><li>Experience with RAG, vector databases, and agent-based systems</li><li>Confident using AI-native dev tools to accelerate delivery</li></ul>Technical <br><ul><li>Strong backend skills (Python, C#/.NET, or Node.js)</li><li>Working frontend capability (React, Next.js, or similar)</li><li>Experience with Azure and cloud architecture</li><li>Familiar withIaCand CI/CD pipelines</li></ul>Systems & Scale <br><ul><li>Experience integrating SaaS platforms via APIs/events</li><li>Understanding of production systems and reliability</li><li>Working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks</li></ul>Mindset & Communication <br><ul><li>Comfortable as a founding engineer in an early-stage environment</li><li>Strong product thinking and problem-solving ability</li><li>Clear communicator across technical and non-technical audiences</li><li>Self-sufficient, proactive, and effective in remote teams</li></ul>The following are desirable but not required: <br><ul><li>Experience with CX platforms (Zendesk, Intercom, Genesys)</li><li>Startup/scale-up experience</li><li>Experience building internal platforms or tools</li><li>Exposure to compliance-heavy environments</li></ul> Why us? <ul><li>Fully Remote work based in Romania</li><li>A competitive salary</li><li>Benefits</li><li>Equipment provided</li><li>Home office allowance </li><li>Online Gym and Wellbeing Studio</li><li>The opportunity for professional growth</li><li>Fun company events and team outings</li><li>Autonomy and Responsibility</li></ul>
