The Opportunity The primary focus of the role is to support the development of a set of web interactive tools that will be used for both research and commercial applications, based on the group’s current R&D projects. The successful candidate will have experience in working with different web development tools and environments and be able to select the methods of work that best suit the project. The successful candidate will work under the supervision and guidance of the SuPerWorld Research Group Leader, Dr Andreas Kamilaris. SuPerWorld is a group of young professionals who enjoy research, development and life collaborating together on a daily basis. Key Responsibilities: <ol style="list-style-type:decimal;margin-left:26px;"><li>Develop and support web-based interactive tools for research and commercial applications. </li><li>Select and apply appropriate web development technologies and methodologies to meet project requirements. </li><li>Work closely with the Research Group Leader and project team to deliver high-quality software solutions within agreed timelines.</li></ol> Your profile Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate will be: <ul><li>Problem solving skills.</li><li>Self-motivation, ability to work independently.</li><li>Team player and creativity are important skills due to the nature and philosophy of CYENS.</li><li>Committed to high-quality deliverables and eager to learn.</li><li>Good presentation and communication skills</li><li>An obvious passion for whatever you are focused on</li><li>Eagerness to learn the basics of geospatial analysis via GIS tools</li></ul> General qualifications and requirements Key requirements Essential Requirements <ol style="list-style-type:decimal;margin-left:31.950000000000003px;"><li>University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree or Degree of a level equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree) or Diploma or Certificate or other study title or qualifications in Computer Science, Information Science, Web Development or relevant fields.</li><li>Experience in Frontend development (e.g. JavaScript, Angular, React).</li><li>Experience in Backend development (e.g. PHP, NodeJS, Python).</li><li>Experience with relational databases (e.g. MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL).</li><li>Language requirements: Excellent written and oral English-language skills will be required. </li><li>For non-EU applicants a work permit will be required</li></ol> Desirable Qualifications The following will be considered an advantage: <ol style="list-style-type:decimal;margin-left:31.950000000000003px;"><li>MSc degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, with a specialization relevant to web development. </li><li>Coding skills in Python.</li><li>Experience with mobile app programming.</li><li>Experience with cloud computing.</li></ol> Why us?
