Job summary Service Coordinator – Smokefree Bristol

About the Role You'll support the day-to-day coordination of the service by:

Coordinating daily clinics and staff cover

Supporting Stop Smoking Advisors and administrative colleagues

Responding to day-to-day queries and ensuring consistent service delivery

Promoting the service and engaging with local communities

Supporting the delivery of a high-quality stop smoking service

The role is based at our Bristol City Centre office (BS1), Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend working.

Main duties of the job

Ensure that all targets, performance measures, and outcomes are achieved successfully for Smokefree Bristol Service

Organise and coordinate project delivery and awareness events.

Responsible for data collection for monthly and quarterly reports

Research, locate, set up and review new clinic opportunities

Work closely, and develop sustainable relationships with local partners, including Pharmacies, GPs, secondary care providers and workplaces in the development, promotion and delivery of the community Stop Smoking service.

Liaise with the relevant authorities to obtain permission and consent for the delivery of marketing campaigns and events.

Gather information on all referrals made to the service and follow up contacts accordingly.

Undertake random spot checks in various clinics to ensure that service quality standards are maintained e.g. relevant literature, display materials, NRT products and completed Monitoring Forms are consistent and following best practice

Manage your own caseload of clients successfully by achieving individual targets and KPIs with a view to lead the team by example

Co-ordinate the recruitment and training of staff by helping the service manager

Ensure that local residents interested in smokefree Bristol, can access the service using means and tools suitable to them

Ensure that printed materials providing information and advice on how to quit smoking are made available to residents in their first language where English is not tgheir first choice

Co-ordinate and deliver, the provision of VBA (Very Brief Advice) training to partners and frontline staff as per service KPIs

Encourage service users and other stakeholders to be involved in the design, ongoing improvement and evaluation of our services

Investigate, report, and resolve all client queries and complaints by seeking guidance and support from service manager where needed

Work flexibly across the whole service, including occasional evenings and weekends as required

Proactively maintain own professional knowledge, development and practice, and contribute effectively to team management meetings

Work within professional boundaries, always maintaining safety and appropriate confidentiality

Offer flexibility within the wider organisational role to support similar duties and responsibilities, at other location/s within a reasonable distance away from your main place of work

Explain the principles of Stop Smoking, including self-efficacy and behaviour change, so that service users can make informed choices regarding their treatment and engagement pathway

Deliver a client-led treatment plan in accordance with national and local guidelines, effectively and professionally, including Carbon Monoxide monitoring, accurate data entry to comply with NICE guidelines, and a comprehensive account of weekly interventions.

Deliver telephone and face-to-face clinics across the borough offering focusing on target communities listed in our service specification

Contribute to local networks to represent, promote, and develop the service

Capture and collate client feedback, success stories and photographs with the appropriate consent for service promotion

Assist with carrying out the external quality control testing all devices and ensuring that all equipment is appropriately calibrated within timescales

Ensure that the Quality standards are maintained within the service

Maintain promotional resources and materials up to date

Knowledge of promotional media channels to regularly post motivational messages and client feedback, success stories

A Level or equivalent qualifications Understanding of public health or related fields and the approaches and tools used to improve health and wellbeing An understanding of health inequalities within the local area A strong understanding of the impact of smoking on health Knowledge of the local area of Bristol and impact of deprivation on poorer localities Competent knowledge and use of MS Office suite Able to prioritise own work effectively and be able to direct and support others Ability to use initiative to decide relevant actions and make recommendations with the aim of improving deliverables and complying to policies Knowledge of current trends in smoking and vaping among young people Proficiency in techniques like motivational interviewing to encourage behaviour change and support people in their journey to quit smoking Ability to understand and respect the diverse cultural backgrounds of people, tailoring support to meet their specific needs Ability to build rapport and trust with a wide variety of people, making them feel comfortable and respected to engage Past experience of working within a Stop Smoking service Experience of coordinating and motivating a team within a public health service or equivalent experience in a different field Experience of preparing and presenting data in the form of reports to a range of stakeholders Strong leadership abilities, effective influencer and networker Professional, calm and efficient manner Full Clean Driving Licence (no more than 3 points) The ability to travel across Bristol
